About our Brixton Music and Street Art Tour

Just 10 minutes away from Victoria Station you find one of London’s most diverse and vibrant communities. An area where sounds, colours and flavours will take you on a journey to a completely new world. Brixton is London’s biggest Afro-Caribbean community. At first you might think “where have I ended up to?”, but as soon as you immerse into its local markets to the rhythm of the best reggae music played around the community and from Savio’s speaker, you will immediately capture its unique artistic, creative and cultural identity and won’t help but falling in love with it!

It’s not by chance that renowned personalities like Bob Marley, David Bowie, Van Gogh and Charlie Chaplin have chosen to live in the area. But what is it exactly that makes Brixton so unique? Whether you are a David Bowie’s fan, a lover of reggae and the Afro-Caribbeans, you like discovering local markets, you are passionate about street art, or you’re looking for an alternative London experience, this is the tour for you!

From colourful textiles, to rich stands of fruit and vegetable, to a huge display of fresh meat and fish, to a wide selection of Afro-Caribbean hairdressers and wig shops, to a village made up of shipping containers, Brixton’s local markets are an explosion of colours and flavours. During the experience you will feel part of the community in a truly unexpected way. From vegans, to vegetarians, to lovers of International cuisine, there is something for all tastes here.

Street Art

If you are a lover of street art Brixton is definitely a must. Differently from other London graffiti areas, like Shoreditch or Hackney, where artists change regularly, Brixton has the biggest display of historical murals from the ‘80s, alongside some current pieces of Jimmy C and Dreph. During the experience you will get to know the past and present of the area also through its murals that tell stories of multiculturalism, fresh produce, war, music and lost rivers.

Brixton is a true international music mecca. A fusion of music from the ‘70s/‘80s with reggae and calypsonian music. Get to know some iconic music venues as well as local music shops. All whilst listening to the best music connected to the area, from David Bowie, to Basement Jaxx, to Bob Marley, to Adele, to Fleetwood Mac, to Culture Club and many more. After the tour you will also receive our Brixton playlist so you can take some Brixton vibes home with you!

I expected to get a few facts and a nice walk. I ended up with a huge amount of steps, a wealth of knowledge on the area, and an amazing experience! This is a must-see if you're interested in going beyond the touristy parts of London! And the music that he played along the walk made it all worthwhile! I will definitely order another tour from him.

This is a fabulous way to explore a new/unknown part of London. Savio is energetic, enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable, and a wonderful tour guide. We enjoyed Brixton tour a ton, learned a lot, and saw a cool part of London that we never would have known about otherwise. And we felt great at the end of the tour (no sore feet from standing around). Would do another tour in a heartbeat!
